What's are Pain Procedures?

Pain procedures supply medicine or supplements directly to painful areas of your body. They are used to promote healing, minimize pain, reduce fluid retention and help you regain mobility.

Some pain procedures go directly into a nerve, where they prevent pain signals from going to your brain. These are often combined with a steroid or other medication to decrease swelling and inflammation around the nerve. They are effective at helping you recover from an injury, surgery, or acute or chronic nerve and joint pain.

Pain Procedures are appropriate for relieving pain in your joints including:

  • Chronic Lower Back pain and Sacroiliac joint dysfunction
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Tendinitis
  • Bursitis
  • Gout
  • Spinal Stenosis

How Long Do They Last?

Each pain injection is different, and the results vary depending on your particular condition. Those who experience significant relief from therapeutic pain injections, may get them several times per year.

Pain injections are usually a part of a comprehensive therapeutic rehabilitation program, involving physical therapy as well. The combination of injections with other therapies can offer long-term results, helping people get back to living life to the fullest.
