Direct Imaging PC takes a different approach. The concept was born out of the idea that modern day healthcare was overly burdened with paperwork, bureaucracy, and corporate influence. All of this was eroding the much-needed doctor patient relationship. We at Direct Imaging knew that through simplification of the administrative burden one could get back to delivering an excellent service that focuses solely on the patient. We have technologically superior machines, handpicked radiologists, technologists, and staff dedicated to obtaining the highest quality images at an affordable price. Dave Shelton Atteberry, MD MSc. Physician
Dave Atteberry MD knew at a very young age he wanted to make an impact on the world. He was born in Fresno, California into a working class family with a mother that was a farm worker. He learned from his parents early on of the value of hard work and a solid education. He graduated from high school with honors and received an academic scholarship to the University of Southern California where he studied and earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering. His studies then took him across the country to the steel town of Pittsburgh where he attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. It was there that he found his true academic pursuit lay in Neurological Surgery When he graduated from medical school, he was accepted into the University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery. He spent the next seven years in residency and fellowship graduating from Pitt's Dept of Neurological Surgery in 2008 and started his career at the UPMC Department of Neurological Surgery. After a short time in academics he decided to return to the west longing for the long summers and not as much snow. He moved back west to Yakima Washington at the end of 2009.
He started out his private neurosurgical career at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital working within their surgery department as a Neurological Surgeon. He quickly saw things that he wanted to change or improve for his patients and so he branched out to form his own private practice Frontier Neurosurgery in 2010. He worked for the next six years at that company until he sold it to Sunnyside Community Hospital in 2016. Through a series of events he was actually able to reclaim his company in 2020 and with the essence of the company still in place he re-branded it to its present form and resurfaced today as Direct Imaging PC.

TJ Pulliam, MD MMM FACG Physician

TJ was raised in the Pacific Northwest in Longview, Washington. After completing his undergrad degree at Stanford University with honors in biology and a minor in psychology, he came to Winston-Salem, NC for medical school in 1980. Upon graduating in 1984, he stayed on at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for internship and residency in internal medicine then served a year on the faculty as the Assistant Chief of Medicine. His digestive diseases fellowship was completed in Baltimore within the Johns Hopkins Health System in June of 1991 where he trained under Dr. Marvin M. Schuster who was internationally recognized for his expertise in GI motility and functional disorders. In the Spring of 2007, Dr. Pulliam completed his Master of Medical Management (MMM) degree from Tulane University to enhance his leadership skills and to broaden his knowledge of health care management.

TJ returned to the NC Piedmont in 1991 and was in private practice through 2002 before returning to Wake Forest Baptist as Vice President for Professional Affairs. He was an assistant professor in GI as well as the medical director for several programs including their Physician Access Line (PAL). Before joining FirstHealth of the Carolinas in September 2013, he practiced general gastroenterology in Wilkes County, NC in association with Wake Forest Baptist and Carolinas Healthcare System. In 2017, Dr. Pulliam returned to his native NW to work with AstriaHealth in Yakima WA. He was able to establish a digestive health center in co operation and collaboration with several staff general surgeons which provided their patients with a comprehensive approach to common digestive disorders and colon cancer prevention.
Dr. Pulliam is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG). As a general gastroenterologist, he provides consultative services as well as performing upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. TJ’s primary GI interests are in upper GI disorders including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, dyspepsia, gastroparesis and noncardiac chest pain. An important focus of Dr. Pulliam’s current practice is colon cancer prevention. He is working with Dr. Dave Attebery at Direct Imaging in Yakima to establish a colon cancer center of excellence.
On a personal note, TJ has three sons. Ben is a finance & accounting honors graduate from the University of Georgia and UNC-Chapel Hill - he is married to Emma May and they live in Salt Lake City where they both work in accounting. Ross is a graduate of the University of SC in Columbia and currently lives in Charlotte NC where he works for Southern Wines and Spirits as a regional representative. Sam is married to Gretchen. He is an US Army infantry officer currently stationed at Fort Hood TX.
Doreen Marquez
Executive Director
Doreen is a local talent that has been working with Dr. Atteberry since 2012. She was part of the administrative team that led to the success of Frontier Neurosurgery and the development of NOVA Health, she has worked in the medical field for twenty plus years. She is a born leader whose expertise is in medical billing and coding, accounting and bookkeeping, and overall EHR and practice management for both hospital and private practice. She is skilled in physician and insurance contract negotiations which result in competitive pricing for our practice. She has also worked in the legal industry with personal injury MVA claims management. She has experience with finance and development within government entities.
When not working, she spends time with her husband Josh, her three children (EmaLee, Trevor, and Noah), and her grandchildren (KaeLee, Ava, and AkyLees). She enjoys the outdoor activities in the Pacific Northwest!
